Well, 200 Subscribers on Substack and I’m so happy I could dance. Or maybe release a celebration story taking on a brand new genre. Yeah that sounds like more my street. But what genre to choose? What to choose?
Well, obviously I’ve already chosen.
Because I’ve already written the story.
We wouldn’t be here, with me to the point of releasing a post on ‘The Wee Writing Lassie’ if I hadn’t already finished the story but I hope you could all appreciate the patter.
For now we will be leaving behind ‘The Themverse’ and all its post-apocalyptic, time-travel, multi-dimensional glory and step into a new world. A world I like to call… The Betaverse. Now the Betaverse is a very special, very weir, place and yes before anyone asks it is an Omegaverse. For those of you not in the no we’ll just wait a moment for you to google that.
And we’re waiting…
Okay for those of you who haven’t just tucked tail and run may I introduce… The Betaverse: a darkly twisted deconstruction of the Omegaverse. A world where unlike many other Omegaverses the Alphas and the Omegas are not rare, or in the minority in society at all, they are the majority. And it is the Betas, that’s the regular humans like you and me who don’t have ruts or heats, that are the minority.
And if you’re still confused on what any of those words mean… well… you were given time to google it, not my fault you didn’t take it.
There is only one place where the Beta rules and that is the land of Doggerland. A mysterious section of the British Isles that is not often mentioned in polite society. What a pity then that that’s exactly where our handsome young scoundrel of an Alpha Doctor, Sykes, has been sent.
Oh dear, let’s hope the culture shock is not too horrendous.
