Yet the thing I found most shocking of all … not a hot air balloon in sight. And no, I’m not marking that as a spoiler, you should go in knowing that. Tv has lied to us.

Goodreads Review: I think my favourite thing about this book is that beyond Dorian’s wish/prayer we’re never given an exact explanation of how the picture came to be as it is. The point of the story is not to explain the world in which Dorian lives but to examine his soul.
