Ariel is not a fussy eater. She happily eats more or less any food. At the castle, she does come to appreciate chocolate cake, however…

Excerpt from Ariel: Dancing on TV

“You’re staying at your boyfriend’s house at the moment, aren’t you?”

I nod, mouth full of cake.

“That’s a big step,” she says, “living with someone for the first time.”

“We’re not really living together,” I explain. “I sleep in his brother’s bedroom.”

“Still, you had it foisted on you before you would have chosen it.”

We both eat more cake. It has four layers of icing and is topped with cherries and cream.

“Do you have stuff to pick up?” she asks.

I do. I forgot about that.
